WINNIPEG, MB: Join Lögberg-Heimskringla for a special 140th anniversary gathering from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Scandinavian Cultural Centre. Enjoy refreshments, visit with friends old and new, and help honour the writers, editors, volunteers, supporters and readers who have kept the paper going since 1886.
The afternoon will also feature the premiere of A Modern Icelandic Saga: The Story of Lögberg-Heimskringla, a commemorative film exploring the newspaper’s remarkable history and enduring place in the Icelandic community. RSVP by September 14 at culturedays.ca/en/events.
