Winnipeg, MB: The Icelandic Canadian Frón, in collaboration with the University of Manitoba, will present the acclaimed documentary The Day Iceland Stood Still with two special public screenings at the Elizabeth Dafoe Library at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Fifty years ago, in 1975, 90% of Iceland’s women took a Women’s Day Off to show how essential women’s labour is. The ripple effect helped lead to Iceland’s 1976 equal rights law. All are welcome!
